Kody, the owner of Black Industries, recently posted a picture on Discord of a new environment skybox they made. It’s so beautiful, I immediately knew I wanted it for my bowling center’s dance floor. I’m happy to announce that the Pride Lanes dance floor has moved, and it has new goodies.
The new dance floor
I bought Kody’s environment cube, and I knew I wanted a new dance floor for it. I found a much nicer dance floor than the old dance floor. Made by Works of Wonder, it comes with a pair of disco balls. There’s a legacy ball and a new mush ball that’s pretty, but not what I was looking for. The legacy design looks like a mirrored disco ball, and there’s no way I wasn’t going to use it. Both balls double as dance machines with 45 dances to choose from, and I can add dances if I want to.
The new dance floor is smaller than the old one, but I think this one looks much better. I may change how the dance floor looks, but this combination of effects and overlay grid is my favorite.
Ooh, shiny
The new dance area is very shiny, with mirrors all around the skybox and reflective tiles on the floor and ceiling. I also moved the bar from that side of Pride Lanes to the dance floor, as well as places to sit. After all, you wouldn’t want to dance with a drink in your hand, and you may want to get off your feet while you drink it.
How do I get to the new dance floor?
I have a teleport disc at Pride Lanes to get you to the new dance floor. Once you get there, there’s a teleport disc to get you back to the bowling center. There’s also a landmark giver so you can get right to the dance floor, although I hope you’ll keep visiting the main area at Pride Lanes.
What’s going into the old space
I didn’t want to leave that big open space at the bowling center. The question of what to put into it was a hard one, especially since I’m getting close to my parcel’s object limit.
As it turns out, I had a great use for that space. Nanci’s Naughties will fill it! I’m going to build a Nanci’s Naughties store in it. I still have to work out how the space will be used, but I’ll have vendors for all of my shirts, so you can buy them without going to the Marketplace.
Will the shirts be available for Prima and LaraX?
Unfortunately, I haven’t begun creating shirts for the Prima Busty and Prima Petite bodies yet.
The good news is that the new store is a great impetus for learning Blender (and Avaster), so I can finally make shirts for the mesh body I wear. The Prima bodies will be the main mesh I make shirts for, but I don’t plan on being exclusively a Prima designer.
I want to move away from the shirt templates I used to make my current shirts. I plan on supporting Lara and LaraX, and in teh coming weeks I’ll be running a poll to see what mesh bodies you want me to support.
When will the new store open?
I hope to open the store later this month. I’m looking at a new vendor style, and if I go that route, I have a good bit of work to do in order to set those up. I’ll be posting updates here and in group notices to the Nanci’s Naughties SL group when I have them.
I’m now on Bluesky!
With my opening a new inworld store, it’s time for me to get on social media. You couldn’t pay me enough to join Twitter (I refuse to call it X) or any Meta platforms. The good news is that I’m now on Bluesky. If you’re one of the butterfly peeps, look me up and say hi.
Have a great summer (or winter if you’re in the southern hemisphere). Stay safe and stay hydrated.
